TRUE TEMPER SENSICORE™ SETTING NEW TOUR AND
SALES RECORDS
MEMPHIS, TN - July 11, 1996 - True Temper Sports reports exceptional sales
results for it’s line of SensiCore™ shafts. Scott Hennessy, True Temper
President, notes that sales and booked orders are projected to exceed 1,000,000
units by the early fall: “We have increased our production schedules three fold
in an effort to satisfy the positively overwhelming response of touring
professionals and golf club companies.”
SensiCore™ is a patented vibration dampening technology that dampens up to 70%
of the vibration of a steel shaft. The composite polymer core, positioned inside
the shaft between the club head and the golfer’s hands, improves the feel of
hitting a golf ball. SensiCore™ reduces the vibrations better than graphite
while having the consistency and accuracy of steel. SensiCore™ is now available
in a complete range of shafts designed to fit a wide range of playing abilities
including Dynamic Gold® , Release™ , and Stratus™. The company intends to
further expand the SensiCore™ product line at the Sept. International Golf show
in Las Vegas.
PGA players have responded extremely favorably to the new technology. Currently
playing SensiCore™ are Davis LoveIII, winner of the 1996 Buick Classic; Greg
Norman, runner up at the 1996 Masters and John Cook, winner of the 1996 Fed-Ex
St. Jude Classic who recorded the best 54-hole score (189) in PGA history, just
after switching to SensiCore™ shafts earlier in the week. Other players taking
advantage of the technology include Nick Price, David Duvall, Jim Furyk, Tommy
Armour III, Larry Mize, Jim Gallagher, Bob Murphy, Jim Dent and David Graham.
True Temper Sports is the largest producer of golf shafts throughout the world
and is consistently the number one shaft used on the PGA Tour, bypassing all
other shaft companies combined.
