TRUE TEMPER REINTRODUCES EXTRALITE™ IN 1998

Memphis, TN - September 8, 1997 - Golfers worldwide rely on True Temper steel golf shafts to deliver reliable and consistent performance. For over seventy years, the industry has looked to True Temper for new and innovative products. In 1998, True Temper is providing club makers with longer, lighter weight shafts to allow for more options in club assembly.

ExtraLite™ was first introduced in 1980 but was so far ahead of the market that few could see its benefits. The new and improved version weighs in at just over 100 grams with 40” irons, and 45” woods. The ExtraLite™ is a low flex shaft that is available in tapered and parallel irons, and parallel woods.

Also new in the light weight steel category is an improved version of the popular TT Lite®. The new TT Lite® XL will have the same performance benefits of the original version, but it will now be available in longer standard lengths. The new lengths will help to accommodate a wide array of assembly options. The longer lengths will make custom club fitting much easier. The TT Lite® XL is available in tapered and parallel irons, and parallel woods.

Dynalite Gold®, a tour favorite for over five years, will also feature a longer length profile in 1998. The popular light weight, low flex club has become the choice of both tour professionals and the industry’s leading club makers. Dynalite Gold® tapered irons will now be available in lengths from 36.5” to 41.5”. The SensiCore™ version will also be featured with the longer length specification.

True Temper Sports is the largest producer of golf shafts in the world and is consistently the number one shaft on the PGA tour. True Temper manufactures a full line of steel and graphite shafts.
