TRUE TEMPER EXPANDS COMPOSITE PRODUCT LINE
EI-70® Filament Wound headlines 1998 product introductions
Memphis, TN - September 8, 1997 - True Temper announced today the addition of
four new composite golf shafts to be introduced at the International Golf Show
in Las Vegas. Leading the way is the EI-70® Filament Wound high performance wood
shaft. Bill Beatty, Marketing Director for True Temper, maintains that
“Technological advancements in the construction of composite golf shafts, namely
filament winding, have enabled us to design and manufacturer a more consistent
performing graphite golf shaft. The new EI-70® Filament Wound wood shaft will
deliver the same high performance features of the original version, while the
advanced filament winding process ensures consistent performance from each and
every shaft.” EI-70® technology was used by the winners of this year’s British
Open and PGA Championship.
The new EI-70® Filament Wound is offered at a 46” raw length to take nearly any
club head style to a finished length of 45”. It is available with both a .335”
and .350” tip diameter.
Another addition to the filament wound product group is Assailant OSC (oversized
core). Like the original Assailant, the OSC version has a mid-flex design which
allows for a wide variety of club head types. However the Assailant OSC features
an oversized butt design (.865”) which permits the construction of lighter total
weight clubs.
Regency completes the list of new composite shafts for 1998. Regency represents
True Temper’s most recent developments in high performance, flag wrapped
graphite shafts and is designed for golfers of any skill level. It is available
in combination flexes and extra long lengths to provide a wide variety of custom
fitting options. Regency is also available with the increasingly popular
oversize butt profile.
