DAVIS LOVE III CAPTURES SECOND VICTORY IN 1997

Pine Mountain, GA - October 6, 1997 - Davis Love III shot a final round 68 on Sunday and cruised to his second victory of the year by winning the 1997 Buick Challenge held at beautiful Callaway Gardens. His final score of 267 (21 under par) set both the tournament and course record. This win vaults Love to the number three position on this year’s official money list with winnings in excess of $1.2 million.

Davis Love III chooses to play Dynamic Gold steel shafts with SensiCore™ technology from True Temper. SensiCore™ is a patented vibration damping technology that eliminates up to 70% of the vibration in a steel shaft. The result is a shaft that offers the consistent performance of steel, and the benefit of a soft, solid feel at impact.

This week’s runner-up also plays True Temper steel shafts with SensiCore™ technology. With this finish, he continued his impressive rookie campaign by posting his fourth top ten finish to go along with a win earlier this year at the Canon Greater Hartford Open.

Currently, SensiCore™ shafts are being played by over forty touring professionals throughout the world. To date, SensiCore™ has helped tour players reach the winner’s circle twenty-three times in 1997. SensiCore™ is now the choice of leading manufacturers like Callaway, Cobra, Henry Griffitts, Lynx, Maxfli, Mizuno, Palmer, Prince, Ram, Spalding, and Titleist for use in their premium performance club lines.

True Temper Sports is the largest producer of golf shafts in the world and is consistently the number one shaft on the PGA tour. True Temper manufactures a full line of steel and graphite shafts.
