Orlando, FL - January 30, 1998 - Today at the 1998 PGA Merchandise Show, True
Temper Sports announced its 1998 commitment to junior golf. True Temper is
launching its inaugural financial support campaign for junior golf, and a new
series of junior shafts.
“With the popularity of golf among the junior segment at its highest point in
years, True Temper has responded by developing a line of products designed
specifically for young golfers,” notes Scott Hennessy, President of True Temper.
“Our support programs will include, but not be limited to, sizable donations to
pre-selected worldwide junior golf programs; and on a local level, employee
participation in Memphis inner-city junior golf camps as instructors and golfing
partners.”
True Temper’s 1998 junior series consists of two new shafts designed to help in
the development of a young golfer’s game. Both are designed for juniors intent
on getting started with the right equipment. Dynamic Gold® J-300 is a scaled
down version of True Temper’s Dynamic Gold® . It provides the benefits of shaft
flexibility and feedback, while still delivering Dynamic Gold’s accuracy and
consistency. It is available as a wood and iron shaft in lightweight steel (90
grams).
Also new is TrueLite™ 500, which is offered with a lightweight steel iron shaft
(85 grams) and an ultra lightweight graphite wood shaft (65 grams). The TrueLite™
500 series matches the ideal combination of overall flex and tip flexibility to
provide junior golfers with great shaft action.
The 1998 True Temper product line delivers the highest quality, most consistent
golf shafts in the world. True Temper Sports is the largest producer of golf
shafts in the world and is consistently the number one shaft on the PGA tour.
True Temper manufactures a full line of steel and graphite shafts.
