TRUE TEMPER APPOINTS GRAEME HORWOOD TO LEAD R&D EFFORTS

Memphis, Tennessee - April 17, 2000 - Today, True Temper announced the appointment of GRAEME HORWOOD to the position of Senior Manager of R&D and Technical Services. Mr. Horwood is the former Director of Technical Activities for Apollo Sports Technologies in Birmingham, England.

Mr. Horwood has over thirty years of technical experience in performance tubing and golf shaft process and design, and holds a degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering. Commenting on the appointment, Scott Hennessy, President and CEO of True Temper Sports, states "We are thrilled to have Graeme join the True Temper team. In the near future, Mr. Horwood and his wife will be relocating from the U.K. to True Temper headquarters location in Memphis, Tennessee.
