TRUE TEMPER INTRODUCES CUSTOM LITE™

Orlando, FL - January 26, 2001 - Today, True Temper Sports introduced Custom Lite, an exciting new steel shaft design that will change the way clubmakers custom fit golfers.

“Custom Lite was specifically designed with the custom clubmaker in mind,” says Bill Beatty, Director of Marketing for True Temper. “It features an ultra light design that allows for multiple trimming options. Clubmakers can now use a single combination flex shaft to achieve a variety of frequency slopes and custom fit nearly all swing profiles.”

Trimmed lengths of Custom Lite produce a shaft series that breaks the 100-gram barrier. This lighter weight design will allow golfers to generate more club head speed leading to longer distance. Custom Lite’s elongated tip and butt sections accommodate the many trimming options. Clubmakers can build a “soft” R flex to a “firm” S flex and anything in between.

Custom Lite shafts also feature tour-proven SensiCore® technology. SensiCore eliminates up to 70% of the unwanted vibration that occurs at impact. “With well over 100 wins on tour, our SensiCore product line is well established in the market,” notes Beatty.

Custom Lite shafts are being sold in packaged sets of nine or individually. Suggested retail price is $85.00 (set of 9), making Custom Lite the opening price point in True Temper’s full line up of SensiCore shaft options.
