TRUE TEMPER® APPOINTS TWO NEW VICE
PRESIDENTS
Memphis, TN - June 11, 2001 -
In an effort to foster continued growth and expansion, True Temper Sports
has promoted Gene Pierce to the role of Vice President of Manufacturing and
Graeme Horwood to the position of Vice President of Engineering, Research, and
Design.
Gene Pierce has served as the Director of Steel Operations in Amory, Mississippi
since joining the company in 1999. “Under Gene’s leadership, the Amory team has
driven continuous and meaningful operational improvement while managing a
significant increase in demand for our steel products,” said Scott Hennessy, CEO
and President of True Temper Sports. As the newly appointed Vice President of
Manufacturing, Pierce will now be responsible for leading all of True Temper’s
manufacturing facilities including Steel, Composite, and Multi-Material product
production.
Graeme Horwood assumes the role of Vice President of Engineering, Research, and
Design and will oversee all of the companies’ research, product development, and
design initiatives. Since joining True Temper in 2000 from Apollo Sports
Technologies, Horwood has led the R&D group that has seen recent product
introductions such as the revolutionary BiMatrx™ multi-material shaft
technology. “New products are the lifeblood of True Temper,” notes Hennessy,
“and we are excited about the experience and leadership Graeme brings to the
development team.”
