MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The 18th Annual True Temper Classic took place at the Jackson
Country Club, in Jackson, Tenn., on April 28-29. Approximately 130 golfers
played in the Classic, partaking in beautiful weather and 36 holes of golf. Tim
Jackson, former Walker Cup Player and USGA Mid-Amateur winner, shot 11-under
(67-66) for the win. Danny Greene, also a former Walker Cup Player and Mid-Am
winner, lost to Jackson by one stroke. Both Jackson and Greene have now won the
True Temper Classic three times each. Gary Robinson was the low professional at
9-under (66-69).
The True Temper Classic was begun in 1986 to give a little back to the golf

early May, and is usually the first major event for the Tennessee PGA. The
invitational is one of the premier fields in the state, inviting Tennessee PGA

The event rotates among three venues: Jackson Country Club, Ridgeway Country
Club, and Colonial Country Club. Next year’s Classic will be held at Ridgeway.
