Binary allows you to no longer compromise performance when choosing between steel or graphite but instead maximizes performance by providing you with steel where you want it and graphite where you need it. Binary is the first steel and graphite combo set that allows for multiple set makeups by offering different shaft material options (steel or graphite) in the #6, #7 and #8 irons. This allows each golfer to choose, based on their needs, where they want their steel to graphite transition to happen and gives them the power to create a set personalized to fit their game. Binary is a highly engineered set of steel and graphite shafts that are perfectly designed for each other by maintaining frequency, balance point and flight characteristics between the steel and graphite shafts to provide a seamless transition when switching between the two shaft materials. Reference the chart below the specs for your recommended Binary set makeup.
True Temper’s proprietary Vibration Suppression System (VSS) reduces unwanted shaft vibrations from contact. There are two models of VSS technology: standard VSS which reduces 71% of harsh vibration from contact—producing the softest feel in golf and VSS Pro, which dampens 56% of harsh vibrations from contact while still maintaining the critical shot feedback demanded by accomplished players.
True Temper proprietary Variable Wall Technology (VWT) allows our engineers to vary the wall thickness throughout the shaft, enhancing performance. Working in parallel with the GM process, the shaft wall is thinner towards the butt section of the shaft for improved feel and then is thicker towards the tip of the shaft for better control and accuracy. With more than 90% of players on the PGA Tour using shafts featuring VWT, these shafts outperform competitors’ straight pull shafts (which feature the same wall thickness throughout).
