True Temper Spotlight: Chris Eikenberg

Share

Chris Eikenberg is a PGA Class A Professional at Desert Horizons Country Club in Indian Wells, CA and a member of our True Certified Shaft Council. Since becoming a Class A Professional in 2009, Chris has earned many professional accolades and tournament championships, including the 2015 Southern California PGA (SCPGA) Assistant Professional of the Year and 2015 DC SCPGA Assistants Champion.

We asked Chris some questions about his career and tips for golfers.

Q. What is your career highlight?

A. Wow, hard to name just one. A few that stick out are being elected to the PGA of America and becoming a part of the greatest fraternity in the world. Winning my first professional event after finishing the tournament with a bogey free 68 to beat the field by 2. Lastly, being awarded the 2015 Southern California PGA Assistant Professional of the Year award.

Q. What is your favorite part of your job?

A. Being able to do what I love for a living. Golf is my passion as well as my career.

Q. Who is in your dream foursome?

A. Being a native Texan transplanted to California in my twenties I would have to go with Texas greats Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, and my Dad.

Q. What is the tip you give most golfers?

A. It is hard to categorize one tip that I give to all golfers. I do note to my students that every person has a swing that is built for them. You can not teach every golfer the same, each person has a different body style, different life rhythm, and idiosyncrasies, thus I will help you with what works for YOU, not one method for all.
