Features

Spin

Spin is the amount of backspin that the ball has. The designs of certain golf shafts can promote more or less spin so keep this in mind when looking for a shaft to maximize your game.

Tempo

Tempo is not how fast you swing it, it is how you swing it fast. Tempo will affect how you load and unload the shaft and is a big factor in which shaft will best suit you. A player with a quicker backswing and more aggressive transition will have a faster tempo, while a player with a slower backswing and smoother transition will have a more deliberate tempo.

Trajectory

Trajectory is the flight of the ball and the peak height that the ball reaches. A player who struggles with getting the ball in the air should look towards a higher trajectory shaft, while a player who struggles hitting the ball too high should look for a lower trajectory shaft.

All I could have hoped for!

"I bought this shaft to replace the splintered TFC 419 shaft in my old Ping G30 driver. I got the Regular flex, and put an oversized "arthritic" grip on it. I'm 78 years old and still swing pretty hard, but I've lost a lot of flexibility (and distance) the last few years. I've tried Senior flex, but that just didn't work for me. The high kick point in this shaft has given me the lower launch angle I was looking for with the 10. 5 degree loft head. So far, I've only been able to play 6 holes with it, and two of those were par threes. Out of the four driving fairways, I hit all four. Distance was respectable considering the soggy conditions (got rained out after #6), the trajectory was low to medium, and direction was absolutely straight. I love it (so far). Price was $60 at Golf Galaxy, and I did the work myself."

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes Project X shafts unique?

Project X shafts are designed with a frequency-based loading system, delivering a stable, consistent feel throughout the swing. They are built for players who want tight dispersion, spin control, and a consistent ball flight.

2. What are the differences between Project X, LZ, and PX Red?

Project X (Original): Firm, stable profile for aggressive players.

Project X LZ (Loading Zone): Softer midsection for increased energy transfer and feel.

Project X Red: Same Project X Steel DNA, is a higher launch and higher spin profile.

3. Who should use Project X iron shafts?

Project X iron shafts are best for golfers with fast swing speeds and aggressive transitions who want to reduce spin and maintain control under pressure.

4. What is Project X HZRDUS known for in driver shafts?

HZRDUS is known for low torque, low spin, and tour-level stability, making it a top choice for players looking to maximize distance while controlling launch and dispersion.

5. Are Project X shafts only for elite players?

While widely used on tour, Project X offers multiple profiles and flex options, making them suitable for a wide range of golfers, especially those looking to improve consistency and control.
