Limited Warranty

1. Coverage and Eligibility

True Temper Sports, Inc. (“True Temper”) warrants to the original purchaser only that True Temper golf shafts will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and playing conditions for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase.

This warranty applies exclusively to shafts purchased directly from TRUETEMPER.COM. Shafts purchased through authorized retail partners, club builders, or original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) must be warranted through the dealer or retailer from which they were originally purchased. True Temper will not accept warranty claims for shafts not purchased directly through TRUETEMPER.COM.

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. Proof of purchase from TRUETEMPER.COM is required for all warranty claims.

If a warranty claim is approved, True Temper will replace the defective shaft with the same model and specification, or a model of comparable performance if the original is no longer available. True Temper’s sole obligation under this warranty is shaft replacement. True Temper is not liable for any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including but not limited to the cost of installation, removal, club head damage, or loss of use.

No cash refunds will be issued under the warranty program. Replacement shafts will be warranted for the remainder of the original one-year warranty period from the original date of purchase, not from the date of replacement.

2. What is covered?

True Temper will replace, at its sole discretion, any shaft that breaks or fails during the normal course of golf play due to a defect in materials or workmanship within the warranty period. “Normal course of golf play” means standard use of the club to strike a golf ball during a practice session or round of golf.

3. What is NOT covered?

This warranty does not cover damage resulting from, but not limited to, the following:

  • Abuse or misuse — including but not limited to shafts broken as a result of anger, intentional impact with the ground, a bag, a cart, or any other object.
  • Club throwing — any shaft broken as a result of a club being thrown, regardless of intent or circumstance.
  • Impact damage — shafts that have been struck, dropped, or otherwise subjected to an impact from another club, object, or hard surface. See the important notice on impact damage below.
  • Reinstallation — any shaft that has been pulled from its original assembly and reinstalled in any club head. The heat required to remove a shaft from a hosel can materially weaken the shaft’s structure, compromising strength and safety in ways that may not be immediately visible. Reinstalled shafts are not covered under any circumstances.
  • Improper installation — shafts broken or damaged as a result of installation that does not follow True Temper’s published installation and trimming guidelines.
  • Alteration or modification — any shaft that has been cut beyond published trim specifications, painted, wrapped, or otherwise modified from its original condition.
  • Normal wear and tear — gradual deterioration through normal use over time.
  • Cosmetic damage — scratches, scuffs, paint chips, or finish wear that do not affect structural performance.
4. NOTICE

Important Notice: Impact Damage to Golf Shafts

Golf shafts — both steel and graphite — can sustain internal structural damage that is not immediately visible on the surface. If you suspect a shaft has been subject to an unexpected impact — whether from a fall, contact with another club or object, or any other unintended force — we strongly recommend removing that club from play and having the shaft inspected before further use.  This is particularly critical for steel shafts. A dent or deformation in a steel shaft — even one that appears minor — can create a structural weak point that leads to sudden buckling or catastrophic failure during a subsequent normal swing. A buckled or shattering steel shaft can cause serious personal injury. Any steel shaft showing a visible dent, crease, or deformation should be removed from play immediately and not used again under any circumstances.  A shaft that fails following a suspected or known prior impact event will not be covered under this warranty.

5. How to submit a warranty claim

To initiate a warranty claim, email: warranty@truetemper.com

Your email must include all of the following:

  • Description of the failure — what you were doing at the time, the circumstances of the break, and approximately when it occurred.
  • Date of purchase — along with your TRUETEMPER.COM order number.
  • Photographs of the break location — showing the full length of the shaft and a close-up of the point of failure.
  • Photograph of the shaft label(s) — showing the product name, model, flex, and weight as printed on the shaft.
  • Photograph of the butt end of the shaft — showing the inkjet lot code/date stamp printed on the butt end of the shaft.

Incomplete submissions will delay processing. A True Temper warranty representative will respond within3–5 business days of receiving a complete claim submission.

6. General Terms

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary by state or jurisdiction. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusions of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

True Temper reserves the right to inspect any returned shaft prior to making a warranty determination. All warranty decisions are made at the sole discretion of True Temper Sports, LLC. True Temper’s determination is final.

This warranty supersedes all prior representations, whether written or oral, regarding True Temper shaft warranty coverage. No dealer, retailer, or third party is authorized to extend or modify the terms of this warranty.

7. How long does it take for a warranty claim to be reviewed and processed?

Once you have submitted the warranty form, we will review your claim within 7 business days and will contact you as soon as the review is complete.

8. What is the limited warranty policy for shafts purchased elsewhere?

True Temper Sports carries a limited warranty that varies by product type.

Please contact your club and shaft dealer where purchased.
