Features

Spin

Spin is the amount of backspin that the ball has. The designs of certain golf shafts can promote more or less spin so keep this in mind when looking for a shaft to maximize your game.

Tempo

Tempo is not how fast you swing it, it is how you swing it fast. Tempo will affect how you load and unload the shaft and is a big factor in which shaft will best suit you. A player with a quicker backswing and more aggressive transition will have a faster tempo, while a player with a slower backswing and smoother transition will have a more deliberate tempo.

Trajectory

Trajectory is the flight of the ball and the peak height that the ball reaches. A player who struggles with getting the ball in the air should look towards a higher trajectory shaft, while a player who struggles hitting the ball too high should look for a lower trajectory shaft.

"Have this on a 9wood ai smoke and it immediately became my go to confidence builder club. I have never gotten so much height off the deck until I used this setup"

Ai Smoke with Cypher Forty 5. 5 shaft

"I am 70 years old, a 10-cap golfer, with smooth tempo, slight draw. With my new Callaway Smoke driver head, I was fitted with Cypher forty 5. 5. I am hitting the ball longer, but struggling to keep driver straight down fairway, Rather I am hitting it to the right with a slight tail. Returning to my Ping, drives goes straight but without the extra yardage. . I will continue to work on this concern on the range, but I am not getting the immediate positive results I was hoping for. Jury is out."

Get a shaft that fits your swing!

"Recently switched drivers from the Maverick to the Ai Smoke triple Diamond. I had access to the fitting cart and went through all of the available options taking notes. Settled on the Cypher 2. 0 50 5. 5 flex. I never realized the difference a shaft can make. I have a deliberate tempo and the change from 65g. Hazardous Smoke to the Cypher visibly narrowed my dispersion and freed up my swing. I gained 20 yards and 4mph with the change. Get fitted and take notes."

Heavy for graphite and boardy

"I got the Project X Cypher 2. 0 60 gram as stock shafts on my new Callaway Paradym Smoke Ai irons. Although the flex on the website said Regular, these are 5. 5, which is firmer than regular but softer than stiff. As a result, my ball flight is lower, about medium trajectory in the mid irons, but low in the 5iron. Also, my usual draw is gone, and I actually slice the 6i & 5i. The shafts feel heavier and stiffer than I expected, and I struggle to get the ball traveling in the correct direction. I don't mind the lower flight, but don't like the heaviness and boardiness of the flex."
