Features

Spin

Spin is the amount of backspin that the ball has. The designs of certain golf shafts can promote more or less spin so keep this in mind when looking for a shaft to maximize your game.

Tempo

Tempo is not how fast you swing it, it is how you swing it fast. Tempo will affect how you load and unload the shaft and is a big factor in which shaft will best suit you. A player with a quicker backswing and more aggressive transition will have a faster tempo, while a player with a slower backswing and smoother transition will have a more deliberate tempo.

Trajectory

Trajectory is the flight of the ball and the peak height that the ball reaches. A player who struggles with getting the ball in the air should look towards a higher trajectory shaft, while a player who struggles hitting the ball too high should look for a lower trajectory shaft.

Control

"I recently picked up a set of cobra king mb/cb combos with these in them and can’t believe the difference it made from my project x 6. 5. The feel and feedback is incredible and the consistency is on point. What you give it is what it gets . There is no shot in the bag these can’t pull off. Are they heavy, yes. But not so heavy you lose feel. Watch out flagstics, we’re coming for you"

Don't be afraid of the X7

"This shaft lives up to its strength in every way. It requires dedication and commitment to practice. That said, it's not out of reach for a guy like me, so if you feel like you can handle the stoutest Dynamic gold profile, you might give it a try. The Dynamic gold line is popular because of its wide range of use. The stiffer profiles can stand up to any amateur swing out there. The X7 doesn't disappoint, though people who have fast swing processes might not like them as much as a PX or similar. These like rhythmic swings like the rest of the DG line. I find my results are best when my takeaway is on a slow count, and transition is sudden and crisp. The trigger point is very important, and Dynamic Gold is best in the hands of a rhythmic swinger. The X7 is no different. If you pick these, be ready to commit to practice. If you don't practice much, you should probably stay away from them. You need a fairly well refined process to get the most out of them. You might get away with using them with strength alone, but there are sacrifices if you can't maintain that refined process. I counter weighted mine. I don't need excessive feedback, and deadening it some more whilst adding heft to the club is a good way for me to stay in rhythm. I started off struggling with these, got to a better spot, and now am transitioning into refinement and it is going well. If you're a golfer that uses your equipment to stretch your abilities, then these are for you. If you don't have that commitment or desire, then these are not for you."

"This is an absolutely exceptional shaft for the stronger player who has a nice high apex on their iron shots. I use this in my Titleist 620MB 3-9 irons and Vokey 48 degree and 52 degree F-Grind P & G wedges. Ball flight, spin profile and lateral dispersion are excellent with all clubs. I use a different shaft for my 56 S-wedge and 60 degree L-wedge, however. I find the tip section of x7 to be a bit bit stiff for those particular wedges. I have tried KBS C-Taper 130x, Project X 7. 0, Dynamic Gold X100, Nippon Modus 130x, and Nippon Modus 120TX, and NONE performed (for me) as well as x7. I liked the others, they are all excellent shafts that I could certainly play, but x7 provided the best combination of consistent long length and tight lateral dispersion. If you are a stronger player, this shaft is DEFINITELY worth a try!"
